Accenture Federal Services and Phase One Consulting Group

  Associate Manager -- Communications and Change Management

Strategic communications advisor to leaders at seven federal agencies: Data.gov (General Services Administration); U.S. Departments of Agriculture (APHIS), Education, Homeland Security (DHS), State and Treasury (SIGTARP); and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission


Develop strategic and internal communications plans, change management plans, and tactical workplans for federal agencies to achieve agency priorities and goals Lead and coordinate teams to implement plans


Develop and implement change management/communications for global deployment of new Public Diplomacy software system at the Department of State


Engaged with USDA APHIS staff from Guam to Puerto Rico to understand roles and culture to ensure that communications meet needs at the grassroots level


Organized events, including two international conferences: 2010 (historic first) and 2012 International Open Government Data Conferences, 400+ leaders for three days of concurrent sessions. Live webcast of 2012 event with World Bank reached 3,800+ participants, tweets to 700,000+ accounts.


Persuaded Data.gov leadership to sponsor 2010 USA Science & Engineering Festival and host booth; event attracted 5,000 people on the National Mall; success led to 2012 sponsorship and TODAY show coverage


Led team of 11 in creating compelling blueprint for award-winning project to reorganize DHS Human Capital


Oversaw Data.gov website redesign, tracked web and social media analytics; grew Twitter following 300%

Communications and marketing activities resulted in unprecedented attendance


Managed media relationships: Washington Post, DC broadcasters, TODAY, CNN, National Geographic, The New York Times, National Public Radio, Roll Call, MSNBC, FoxDC and more


Initiated website redesign and introduction of social media 


Built relationships across the agency and Legislative Branch, including the U.S. Senate Printing and Document Services, and with U.S. Government Printing Office


Led effort and wrote winning application for Washington Business Journal Green Business Award for Education/Outreach for USBG’s Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES) partnership

Increased engagement. Highlights include:

 Initiated and coordinated the College’s first collaboration with the University of Virginia’s Miller Center of Public Affairs, a  live roundtable on Race and Gender in American Politics based on the magazine's cover story. The overflow event was  moderated by Pulitzer prize-winning Douglas A. Blackmon, author of the New York Times bestseller, Slavery by Another Name: The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War II (Doubleday, 2008).  Accompanied by the College's first live webcast for global alumni.  This was the magazine's first event targeting current students.

Increased online engagement with record feedback to dean’s monthly question, up 200%


 Successfully organized the first alumni editorial advisory board, comprising Washington Post Company, Real Simple, Vanity Fair and Scientific American executives; and Reddit and Jupiter Communications founders


Built relationships throughout the College community worldwide


Attracted the first donation in magazine history
