I love to tell inspiring stories about people making a difference.
I am enormously proud to have told the story of the heroic Oregonians who cared for New Yorkers after 9/11 in my book, Oregon Loves New York: A Story of American Unity After 9/11 (oregonlovesnewyork.com).
I'm deeply proud of the film I wrote, Letters from the Grapevine, which you can see on YouTube at this link.
Another constant has been making specialized topics accessible and meaningful. My writing has appeared in many major newspapers, from The Boston Globe to the Chicago Tribune. I’ve edited dense scholarly texts for the National Gallery of Art, lively feature stories for the University of Virginia, and contributed more than 1,000 items to the J. Paul Getty Museum’s website. I’ve not only written about technology, I’ve helped people use it by creating user guides and training materials.
I've written frequently about business and technology and gardening, which is my passion.
I'm proud to have written the first exhibition catalogue on California wood engraver Paul Landacre for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
