You'll find below my work as a freelance editor, along with other projects. As Senior Editor for Permanent Collections, National Gallery of Art, I oversaw all projects, vendors, and interdepartmental teams for permanent collections publications: books, digital catalogues, website, press releases, brochures, and more.
I shepherded this book from raw manuscript through publication. I helped the author select photographs, create high-res files of his photographs and scripts, and worked closely with the designer to ensure a beautiful final product. Published in 2020.
In overseeing the first new guidebook for the nation's art collection in more than 20 years, I managed multiple editors, authors, and other experts within the Gallery and beyond. This guide covers more than 400 of the Gallery’s masterworks, with lavish reproductions and insightful commentaries by the Gallery's curators. This guidebook was translated into French, Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish for international audiences.
This limited edition catalogue was one of the most complex books ever produced by the National Gallery of Art, Washington. The text had been written in Italian many years before by the late Miklós Boskovits, one of the leading scholars of early Italian art. Maintaining the accuracy of a deceased author's work was a challenge. This collection had not been published in its entirety since the Gallery's 1979 Catalogue of the Italian Paintings.
The book was also produced as an online catalogue, which can be viewed here.
